Surgical Abortion
Surgical abortions are a safe and legal option in Ontario. This procedure is performed by specialized physicians and is available both at our local hospital, as well as out of town.
Contact us to book a pregnancy options appointment. We will review your medical history, confirm the pregnancy, and set up further testing. Once this is complete, we will refer you based on your gestation:
Under 12 weeks
If you are under 12 weeks, you can be referred locally and will have your procedure done in day surgery. The procedure itself is quite quick but you may be required to stay for the entire day and need to arrange a ride home.
If you prefer to have the procedure done out of town, we are happy to provide you a list of clinics that you can access these through self referral.
Over 12 weeks
If you are over 12 weeks, surgical abortion services are not available locally. If you wish to proceed with this option, we are happy to provide you a list of clinics that you can access through self referral.
